again the Lyric Hammersmith will play host on Sunday 3rd November 2024,
with the doors opening at 9.30am. With three
incredible lectures: Top mentalist and Derren Brown collaborator Stephen
Long (aka Hector Chadwick), will be giving a brand new lecture full of
practical effects and devilish thinking. 'Gentleman Juggler' Mat Ricardo
will be lecturing many of his remarkable tricks for the first time ever,
and from the United States, close-up magic legend Wayne Houchin is giving
his first lecture for almost a decade!
Plus the packed, two-level,
dealers hall with Alakazam Magic, Arcane Arts, DTrik, Castle Magic,
Custom Card Tables, Joker Magic Hungary, Jon Allen, Kovari Magic, Magic
TV, Monster Magic, Next Level, Nyman Magic, Pat Page Magic, Pro Magic
Academy, Spookys Magic, Trick Trick Boom, Grum Leather Craft, Henry
Ferris Magic and Chris Rawlins, the London Close-up Championship, the Patrick Page Award

Ferran
and Nataly Rizo's 'The Tricks of an Adventurer' Lecture - The Order of
The Magi, 12th November. Mike Sharples writes: The Order of The Magi
is pleased to announce that on Tuesday the 12th November Ferran and
Nataly Rizo will be making a very welcome return visit to the Magi.
The Tricks of an
Adventurer lecture is sure to have something for everyone. If the last
time they visited the Magi is anything to go by, then we are in for a
fantastic night. I know that both Ferran and Nataly have lots of new
material that they want to share with as many of you as possible.
The meeting starts at
7.30pm at The Order of The Magi Headquarters, Irish World Heritage
Centre, Irish Town Way, Cheetham Hill, off Queens Road, Manchester.
Visiting magicians are welcome for an entry fee of £10 per person. Any

some fantastic feedback about "the most unique night out in Lichfield"
and so we're really pleased to be moving to a monthly format. This
should be easy to remember - every 4th Wednesday of the month from 2025.

& Ruse, London, to November 23rd. Dive into the mystical world of the occult at Rhythm & Ruse, situated
within the legendary Vaults in Waterloo. This clandestine secret society of magicians promises an
unforgettable evening of revelry in an immersive experience unlike any
other. Expect magic, captivating live jazz, and sultry cabaret
performances from some of London’s top immersive talent, all accompanied
by free-flowing cocktails from the award-winning Tom Savano.
Residing in the dimly lit arches of Waterloo, Rhythm & Ruse invites guests
on a journey to discover the magic of the Jazz Age, where unmarked doors
and whispered passwords unlock a world of mystery and glamour. A night
of close-up magic, live jazz and unlimited prohibition cocktails awaits,
with charming hosts spinning tales and cracking jokes throughout. Amidst
the flickering candlelight, nine magicians will subtly weave between
tables, each offering their unique brand of close-up magic. Guests will
delight as they witness a variety of mesmerising tricks up close, with
the assurance that each visit promises a fresh and different experience.
Meanwhile, large-scale illusions and captivating cabaret performances
will unfold onstage, adding to the enchantment of the evening.
Under the direction of Fania Grigoriou, a longtime collaborator with
Punchdrunk since 2013, and brought to life by Mallory Gracenin and Sam
Booth, esteemed figures from Punchdrunk's Burnt City and other
international immersive productions, Rhythm & Ruse emerges as an original
concept show crafted and performed by an expert team with extensive
experience in immersive theatre worldwide. Additionally, Naomi Banks,
one of the most exciting talents to emerge from London’s burgeoning Neo
Soul and Jazz scene, lends her musical direction to the production.

ceases to amaze me when generic magicians such as David Kwong in this
case think it's okay to expose brilliant methods on TV. I also felt sorry for the girl,
not being taught by someone who respects, or even understands, what magic
is really all about. Even if the deliberate exposure hadn't been part of
the routine all was exposed during the performance anyway, in the
