Jon Allen Lecture - British Magical Society, 27th May. Phil Sweeting writes: A performer, lecturer, published author and creator of unique magical effects and routines with a worldwide reputation, Jon needs little introduction. His lecture is crammed full of knowledge and experience, from creating and performing magic for lay audiences over many years. You'll learn some great tricks, but will hopefully learn tips that will help improve the performances of tricks you already do as well. Visiting magicians welcome (£10 on the night). Magic, Comedy, Mind-Reading & Mystery from The Order of the Magi. From the organisers: The Order of the Magi are proud to return by popular demand to present an Evening of Magic, Comedy, Mind-Reading & Mystery on Tuesday 24th June as part of Poynton Arts Festival.

Character: Stagecraft Workshop with Chris Wilder - Nottingham, 2nd June. Great magic isn't just about tricks—it's about storytelling. This practical workshop explores how strong character and immersive world-building can transform a magician's performance from a series of effects into a captivating theatrical experience. Sean Taylor Lecture - The Society of Irish Magicians, Dublin, 3rd June. Sean, a busy professional magician based in Australia is currently on a 9 week European tour. Reviewing his recent lecture in Helsinki, Pete Poskiparta wrote, "What a great lecture! It was really good material, which he presented and taught with decades of professional experience.
