MMR
LIVE - Sheffield, 16th September.
Mentalists from across the UK and around the world will gather at Heist
Brew Co in Sheffield for the very first MMR LIVE on Wednesday 16th
September. Created by mentalist Looch and born from the My Mind Rocks
online mentalism community, MMR LIVE is an intimate one-day event
dedicated entirely to mentalism - and you don't need to be an MMR member
to attend.
The day features five special guest sessions, alongside dealers,
demonstrations, jamming, networking and plenty of opportunity to meet,
share ideas and spend time with fellow performers. Three of the five
guest speakers have already been announced: Scott Creasey, Paul Brook, Phill Smith,
Nik Pledger and Ross Bartels.
Unlike a traditional large convention, MMR LIVE has deliberately been
designed as a smaller, more social gathering where attendees can
actually spend time together. There are already mentalists travelling
from across Europe and nearly ten attendees making the journey from the
USA for this inaugural event. And at just £35 for the entire day, MMR
LIVE represents exceptional value for anyone interested in mentalism,
whether you're a professional performer, magician looking to explore
mentalism, enthusiastic amateur or simply passionate about the art.
MMR LIVE – The First Gathering. Wednesday 16th September 2026. Heist
Brew Co, Sheffield. Tickets: £35. Places are limited and the event is
now only weeks away. Full details and tickets:

Northamptonshire
LADs Centenary Convention - Sunday, 27th September.
From the organisers:
An incredible Magic convention featuring international lecturers and world-class
dealers travelling from all over the world to inspire magicians in
Northamptonshire.
It's happening. LADs is back - for one final time.
After eight years of sold-out events and unforgettable lectures, LADs (Lectures
and Dealers) returns in 2026 - and this time, it's going to be something truly
special.
Organised once again by David Penn, Patron of the Northamptonshire Magicians
Club, LADs became the biggest one-day magic convention in the UK - attracting
over 300 delegates every year. But for the past few years, magicians have kept
asking the same thing: "Can we do it one more time?"
Well, now we are. To celebrate the roots of it all - and the club where it all began
- members of
the Northamptonshire Magicians Club have spent the last five years raising funds
to bring back LADs for one final event, marking the club's upcoming centenary.
Let's celebrate 100 years of magic together!
We currently have 3 international acts booked.
Expect a full day of international lectures, inspiring power talks (presented in
a TED-style format), a dedicated lecture environment, and a completely separate
dealers' area featuring the best names in magic retail. For further
information please see our website:
www.northamptonshiremagicians.uk. Sunday 27th September from 10am – 8pm at
Delta Hotels, Eagle Drive, Northampton NN4 7HW. Tickets £45 per person. Due to
venue capacity ticket numbers are limited to 200. There are still a few

Michael
Diamond's 'The Real Inside Secrets of Escapology' Lecture - The Order of
the Magi, Manchester, 22nd September. Jonathan Royle writes: We are
pleased to welcome Michael Diamond to The Order of the Magi in
Manchester for a fascinating and detailed look into the world of
escapology.
This lecture explores the history, techniques, and realities behind one
of magic's most intriguing performance areas. Michael shares insights
into legendary escape artists, the equipment they used, and how these
methods have developed over time. Alongside this, he will demonstrate
escapes from a range of restraints, including handcuffs, straitjackets,
chains, and padlocks.
Drawing from his own collection, Michael will present a variety of
authentic restraints and explain how they function, along with the
practical techniques used to escape from them. He will also address some
of the misleading information that has appeared in print over the years,
offering a clearer understanding of what really works and why. This
includes the story behind the well known "Mirror Cuffs" and their place
in escapology history.
The lecture also looks at the life of an escapologist, covering the
challenges performers face, the realities behind the scenes, and the
rivalry that has existed within the field. There is also an exploration
of escapology's historical role in exposing fraudulent mediums, adding
further context to its place within the wider world of magic and
performance.
This is a lecture aimed at magicians with an interest in escapology,
offering both historical insight and practical understanding from an
experienced performer.
Visitors are very welcome. Tickets are £10 per person when booked online
in advance, or £15 on the night. 22nd September at 7.30pm. See

J Fitch's Desert Island Tricks.
"He's performed for Queen Elizabeth II, he's a resident magician in Gordon
Ramsay restaurants and he's Vice President of The Magic Circle, but he still
geeks out over the same question every working magician wrestles with: what
actually works when you're in the trenches night after night? We sit down with
Michael J. Fitch for a wide-ranging, laugh-out-loud conversation that turns into
a practical guide to building a set that plays for real people, not just

Dee
Christopher - Northamptonshire Magicians' Club, 15th September. Joy
Payne writes: Dee Christopher is an internationally acclaimed vampire
mentalist, drenched in darkness and dripping with charisma, who blurs
the line between illusion and the occult. He was the winner of the "Best
Cabaret Show" at the Edinburgh Fringe Horror Awards 2024. Seen on BBC
Three's Killer Magic and as a "Fear Expert" on Dr Michael
Moseley's Meet The Humans, he has captivated millions worldwide with
his unnerving blend of psychology, mysticism, and theatrical macabre.
From performing on the Las Vegas strip to appearing as a core cast
member in London's most popular full time magic show, The Magician's
Table, Dee is one of the most in-demand alternative entertainers on
the circuit today.
His performances are not simply shows but immersive, supernatural experiences — part séance, part rock concert — that seduce, shock, and linger in the mind. With a cult following across the globe, Dee embodies the gothic glamour of modern magic with sinister precision. The Psychic Vampire brings high impact entertainment that looks like a mind-reading show, but feels like a horror movie. Come and join us for another great evening at the NMC – if you dare!
Start time 7.30pm. Members free, magicians' guest fee £20 – pay on the night. Northamptonshire Magicians' Club meetings are held at Woody's Bar & Restaurant, Clannell Road, (Tesco Car Park), East Hunsbury, Northampton NN4 0JF. Woody's is located in the Tesco Mereway car park. You receive up to four hours free parking while the store is open. You must validate your vehicle registration using the iPad inside the venue. Please make this the first thing you do when you arrive. Arrival time is completely up to you! Woody's has a separate bar area where you can meet and socialise with food or a drink before the meeting starts. We're looking forward to seeing you there, please support the raffle.
