Number 81 - 12th January 2002
Magician
Julian Russell appeared in Cruises from Hell on Monday
evening on ITV1. Julian, originally from Basingstoke but now living in
the States, had the misfortune to be involved in not one but two at-sea
disasters. In both cases Julian was one of the last to leave the ship,
greatly assisting passengers off first. In both cases the ships, the
Oceanos
(photo - August 1991) and the Achille Lauro (December 1994), went
down. No lives were lost in either incident. The home video footage made
chilling viewing. (Sorry if you're a cruise act reading this onboard
ship right now!)

Daryl - The Magician's Magician is advertising
with MagicWeek.
Dai Vernon once said, "In my opinion, Daryl is one of the smoothest and
most entertaining close-up performers I have ever witnessed." Almost 20
years ago Daryl was awarded the title "The Magician's Magician" by his
peers - meaning he is amongst the best of the best in close-up magic.
Luckily for the rest of us Daryl decided all those years ago to share his
magic in the form of lecture notes, tricks, and videos, and now an exciting
range of DVD's.
He has become known as one of the foremost teachers of
magic in the world today and every item that he sells has been tried and tested
by Daryl himself, in real audience situations. After completing his
record-setting New Millennium World Tour (1999/2000), visiting more than 245
cities in 25 different countries, Daryl has settled back home in Las Vegas
where he is a regular headliner at Caesars Magical Empire. When he is not performing, or holding private
master-classes for his students, Daryl continues to invent and manufacture
practical and exciting magic which can be found at his new web site:

MagicWeek advertisers
www.mgictricks.co.uk
have just launched an Australian equivalent at
www.magictricks.com.au
"Although magic is every bit as popular in Australia as it is in the UK,
internet magic sites catering for an Australian audience were almost
non-existent" said Carl Fraser, owner of MagicTricks.co.uk "We've launched the site
using a selection from our UK range and have opened offices in Queensland,
meaning all orders are dispatched via the Australian postal system."
MagicTricks.co.uk was launched in August 1999 and is based in Ashford,
Kent. The company employs 3 full time staff in the UK and 2 for the
Australian site. In addition to the retail side of the business, they also
produce a range of own brand products.
