Northern
Magic Circle Junior Day of Magic. This year's Junior Day of Magic
will be held at St David's Church Hall, Tudhoe Lane, Tudhoe Village,
Spennymoor, Co Durham. The day will include workshops on Balloon
Modelling, Cards & Coins and Entertaining Children, magic dealers Cliff
Lount's Bradford Magic Studio and Alan Duncan Magic, and a sale of magic
props and magazines in aid of their junior funds. To close the day there
will be a mini gala show. Tickets are £12.50 for the whole day which
includes lunch and tea or £6.00 for the evening only. Close-up and Stage
Competitions are open to all junior magicians aged 11-16 years old.
Non-members welcome. Although it's billed as a Junior Day, everyone is

Night with The Leamington and Warwick Magic Society. The Leamington

Ken
Dodd, Honorary Life President of the Blackpool Magicians’ Club,
unveiled a statue of himself at Liverpool, Lime Street railway station
on Thursday 11th June. Attendees at the Blackpool Magicians’ Convention
each February know and love Ken for he invariably says ‘a few words’
during the Gala Show on Sunday evening. Britain’s favourite comedian was
born and still lives in Knotty Ash, an area of Liverpool made famous by
Ken Dodd, and now his effigy will greet travellers arriving at the

Fylde Mystics. News from Alan Mylecraine: "At a recent meeting it
was agreed that the Blackpool & Fylde Mystics
would now revert back to its original name of The Fylde Mystics. We are

Vice-President Ken Ashburn of an original Fylde Mystics certificate from
the 1960's the society's logo has been updated to include some of the

Mentalist
and Psychological Entertainer Paul Stockman is the resident
Mentalist for Channel 4's Big Brother series for 2009. Paul's first
appearance was on Friday 5th June live on Big Brother's Little Brother

Heydon now has three monthly radio slots. BBC Radio Northampton on
the Bernie Keith show, BBC Radio Leicester on the Chris Baxter show
(repeated on the breakfast show) and Harborough FM on the Moley show.
Sean has been performing radio magic on these shows for two months and
has been enjoying a huge response from listeners resulting in all three

and Jayne of Safire have just finished a successful 60 date UK
theatre tour with BBC’s Chuckle Brothers Chuckle Trek the Lost
Generation. Their new Robot Magic act 'Safire & Steel' was very well
received and due to the interest generated from agents and the corporate
market they have decided to carry on performing this act after the tour
finishes. Safire now take a short break then start on a Summer Season
version of the show which will be performed on mid week dates at The
Britannia Pier Theatre Great Yarmouth, The Embassy Theatre Skegness and
The Futurist Theatre Scarborough (see
What's On). They will
also be appearing once again with The Ken Dodd Laughter Show on various
dates throughout the Summer.
