Magic Night - now at The Century Club, Shaftesbury Avenue, London. On Friday 10th July, starring Ben Hanlin from ITV2's ‘Tricked’, Pete Heat, Jack Beavis, Tina Turner Tea Lady, Necrosis Lucia Wrestler (aka Philip Bedwell) and MC Neil Henry. From the organisers: Magic Night raises the pain threshold on magic with some wrestling and tricks with Neil Henry feeling the pain from Necrosis, lucha wrestler extraordinaire Lucha Britannia. All we’re saying is that the tricks better not go wrong or Neil Henry will be punished. Pete Heat, described as modern, edgy and powerful (by himself, but we agree – he is!) will be looking into your dreams. We’ll have a star turn by Tina Turner Tea Lady and her raunchy vocals and Jack Beavis uses props in the most unusual way; they seem to mould into themselves in his hands in ways that seem impossible. On top of all the shenanigans we also welcome Ben Hanlin to the stage from ITV2's hit show ‘Tricked’. All compered by magic Neil Henry who will be going a couple of rounds with Necrosis. Doors open 7pm. Show starts at 8pm. Tickets £14. Show ticket plus dinner £27.50. Tickets: Century Club, 61- 63 Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 6LQ (Map) 20.6.15

Edinburgh: first city to host illusion-installation fusing magic, science and floristry. Edinburgh International Magic Festival organisers have created a brand new illusion, under the title "Sweet Dreams", fusing magic, science and floristry that sees a beautiful bed of flowers magically change colour as you travel 360 degrees around it. The illusion, inspired by the magical nature of dreams where anything is possible, reflects this year’s MagicFest theme of ‘Awake in Wonder’. The Colour Changing Flower Bed project has been 2 years in the making and is the first time a magician (Kevin McMahon AIMC), mathematician (Dr Mark Collins) and florist (Alice Shaw) have worked together to create such an illusion. The concept uses a bedstead with the mattress replaced with over 1000 flowers, painstakingly placed in precise positions inside a frame made out of playing cards that have been used in past magic performances. Each work is meticulously put together by hand and the idea behind the project is that to explore different possibilities you have to move to change your perspective, and make a dream a reality. 'The Mayar Approach' Hypnosis Workshop by Ravi Mayar. 'The reinvention of Mix & Mingle Hypnosis'. Ravi writes: My objective was to achieve a "real world" tangible approach to putting spectators under hypnosis in any mix & mingle situation. I am a certified "Train the Trainer" graduate and created a blueprint picture of an understanding on how to learn this approach. The Mayar Approach had to be done in the same mannerism and fluidity as performing the next magic trick. A professional performer needs an approach that allows him to seamlessly switch out of one style of performance into the hypnosis without too much time given to a method in which the spectator has most of the control. Over years of development, a tried and tested method of, Induction, Implication, Set up, Language and Service Recovery has been achieved and is now available to you. Please contact me on 07854 764673 "Ravi originally trained in Hypnosis with the Head Hacking Team and has remained close with the team, sharing ideas ever since. Since those early days, Ravi has developed on his own and after years of tried and tested performances has finally decided to release his unique approach to Mix & Mingle Hypnosis to the public" Anthony Jacquin, Founder of Head Hacking, Author of Reality is Plastic, International Public Speaker. 20.6.15
