Simon Rosselli writes: Steve Dimmer presents his Children's Nuts & Bolts lecture to South London Magic Society on the 6th June 8-10pm. He explains many original effects with props all magicians will have and also goes into the practical side of being a children's entertainer. He explores how to sell your services more effectively, promoting yourself at parties with a view to getting more work, as well as how to make your shows more fun with new bits of business and sub-routines. Also addressed is the tricky issue of entertaining for the older child and tactics on the thorny problem of how to keep the adults quiet! Interspersed with this are original effects that he has devised for the hardest of audiences: teenagers, which can be performed to audiences of any age. These tricks have original methods. Steve is an Associate Member of The Inner Magic Circle with Silver Star and has won The Pip Ayres Memorial Trophy for Children's entertainment 8 years out of the past 10. www.southlondonmagic.co.uk £10 for non-members (welcome). The Mark Leveridge May Podcast. Whether it's in the car on the way to work or sitting at home or in the garden with your earplugs in, the Mark Leveridge magic podcast is always worthwhile. This month it's a Podcast Special, in which Mark offers you three Audio Files extracted from Mark's Monthly Message video presentations which were originally given to E-Club Pro members. Here you can listen to audio tracks which cover topics on how to approach a table, ways to get great reactions from spectators at those tables, and finally, how to judge the right length to stay at any given table. These advice audio tracks are three of 12 that are normally available for purchase at www.markleveridge.co.uk/audiofiles.php, but which you can listen to for free this month in the Podcast. So, kick off your shoes, grab a cuppa and enjoy 30 minutes of helpful audio by accessing the May Podcast from either www.markleveridge.co.uk/podcast.php or www.markleveridge.podbean.com. 20.5.17

E-Club Pro - Live! 2017-18 Version. A Lecture Like They Used To Be! The latest version of Mark Leveridge's professionally presented club lecture evening offers maximum value as it consists of a dozen varied routines and ideas, every single one of which is properly performed and then carefully and fully explained. And guess what - this is not a thinly disguised 'dealer dem' that requires the club members to put their hand in their pocket to pay for the props to perform the lecture items, as there are no individual items for sale afterwards at all! Yep, it's a lecture like they used to be! The reason is that the magic in this lecture uses everyday objects or commonly used props. There are routines with coins, cards, purses, Jumbo cards, silks, rope and more, and the effects themselves are all practical and well within the abilities of everyone except the total beginner. With magic to suit a close up show, and walkabout, as well as parlour performances and mentalism, there's pretty much something for everyone. All the routines come from the Vintage Vault and The Teach In sections of Mark's online magic resource E-Club Pro, hence the lecture title, and it provides an entertaining and fascinating evening of magic for all club members to enjoy. See the MagicWeek Lecturers page for more info and to book. 20.5.17
